Toyota Safety Sense Overview | Advanced Vehicle Safety System

Marshal Dylan here at Toyota City Wetaskiwin, where Cars Really Do Cost Less, so Let Your Legacy Start Here.

Today I’m going to be talking about Toyota Safety Sense. Now, it’s getting rolled out to all the models. The goal is, by 2018, to have one of these two safety systems in every single one of our cars.

So, what the Safety Sense is, we have two, we have Safety Sense C, and Safety Sense P. So Safety Sense C has the Pre-Collision system, Lane Departure Alert, and Automatic High Beams.

So your Pre-Collision System, if you’re coming up, and the car senses an immediate crash, it’s going to help you by braking. You have Lane Departure Alert, so if you’re out of your lane for an extended period of time it will make an audible warning to make sure you get back in your lane. And then the Automatic High Beams, so when you’re on dark roads, they’ll automatically turn on, and if anybody is on coming it will automatically turn off.

Now P is a little bit more in-depth, it’s got a little more to it. It’s got the Pre-Collision system, with the Pedestrian Detection as well. You got the Lane Departure Alert with Steering Assist, so if you’re out of your lane for an extended period of time, this vehicle will actually gently steer you back into your lane. And then it’s got the Automatic High Beams as well, and then Dynamic Radar Cruise Control. That’s an awesome feature. If you’re going down the highway at a 110, and you’re coming up at something that’s doing a 105, the vehicle will hold this distance between that vehicle.

Now, Toyota’s goal is to have this standard on every vehicle by 2018, so keep an eye out for that. Also, with Safety Sense P comes in the brand new C-HR, and I’ll be having my walk around video soon.
